The ECS Tuning MK5/MK6 2.0T TSI Cast Aluminum Intercooler Upgrade boosts power and lowers intercooler outlet temps by maximizing core volume and more efficiently dispelling heat over the OEM sandwich-mounted intercooler. Designed and engineered by our in-house R&D Team to replace the under-performing stock intercooler, our intercooler is more efficient at cooling the turbocharged air with less pressure drop than stock. The factory intercooler is not up to the task of shedding heat efficiently at higher power levels. If you plan to go above stock boost levels an intercooler upgrade is a must. With our ECS Tuning OE-Location Intercooler Upgrade we recorded lower intercooler outlet temperatures, lower pressure drop and an increase in cooling system efficiency.  Our design features high quality cast aluminum end tanks with integral flow dividers on the intercooler inlet for even flow distribution across our massive 23.0” x 16.5” x 2.0” {759 in³} aluminum bar and plate core, which lends to an increase in volume of +56% over the OEM GTI intercooler, for maximum heat dissipation. Our intercooler was in-house engineered to provide a bolt-on cooling solution for the VW and Audi transverse mounted 2.0T EA888.1 TSI platform. Through our in-house evaluation on a K04-equipped MK6 GTI, we measured a maximum increase of +11 WHP @ 5,261 RPM and +5 WTQ @ 3,662 RPM along with an increase of +23% in cooling efficiency at redline and -40° F. lower intercooler outlet temperatures.    PART DESIGN 3D CAD designed to allow the best placement and larger volume core over stock all while requiring no modifications to your vehicle  Retains all OEM cooling air guides and mounting features.  Aluminum Straight Vane Bar and Plate Core: 23.0” x 16.5” x 2.0” (759 in³ internal core volume)  Cast Aluminum End Tanks with smooth-flowing internal inlet and outlet flow-paths  Cast 2.50" barbed connections keep hoses secured while minimizing the risk of hoses blowing off Internal flow dividers on the intercooler inlet ensures an even flow distribution between the entire surface of the intercooler core  End tanks are TIG welded to the intercooler core and the complete assembly is pressure tested to 3.5 BAR at 0% leak down to ensure sealing capacity Cast mounting features are precision machined to ensure quality fitment    KIT CONTENTS ECS MK5/MK6 Cast Aluminum Intercooler  CNC-machined Side Pipe Adapter Multi-Ply Reinforced Silicone Inlet and Outlet Couplers with T-Bolt Clamps  Zinc-coated Mounting Hardware    PERFORMANCE FEATURES Tested on our In-House Mustang Dyno on a 2011 MK6 GTI 2.0T 6 speed manual, comparing the OEM MK6 GTI intercooler to our ECS Tuning MK5/MK6 OE-Fitment Upgrade. We strive for the highest level of precision and quality through leading-edge product development technology including FARO laser scanning for reverse engineering and quality inspection, SolidWorks 3D CAD modeling, rapid prototyping utilizing our in-house 3D printer, and rigorous long term product testing. Warranties only apply to the original owner. If a product is found defective, the customer will receive, at the discretion of Eurosport Performance, a replacement part at no extra cost.
