The ARM MK8 GTI Intake was designed to remove the factory intake restrictions and maximize airflow on your EA888 Gen 4 2.0T. Upgrading to the ARM MK8 GTI Intake utilizes a 4" design which allows your 2.0T to breathe easier and spool faster, producing more power and torque. The ARM MK8 GTI Intake is ideal for any MK8 GTI, whether stock or tuned, and especially for upgraded turbo equipped EA888 Gen 4 builds. It connects directly to the ARM MK8 GTI Turbo Inlet for a fully unrestricted induction path from filter to turbo, and also includes an adapter ring for those running the OEM turbo inlet. Installation of the ARM MK8 GTI Intake will open up the sound of your turbo and enhance the intake sounds of your 2.0T. You can expect to hear significantly increased volume of your turbo spool on acceleration, as well as a very audible venting of air when letting off the throttle.

CONSTRUCTION

The ARM MK8 GTI Intake features a class-leading 4" inlet size at the air filter to maximize airflow for even the most demanding builds. Connecting the air filter to the intake hose is a 4" aluminum intake pipe, providing a rigid, transition inside the heat shield that maintains the massive 4" size from the filter to the intake hose.  

The 4" intake hose is made of 6-layer reinforced high-temperature silicone to maintain it's shape even during extreme driving conditions.  The ARM intake hosetransitions down to 3" at the turbo inlet to match up directly with the ARM MK8 GTI Turbo Inlet. For builds not running the ARM Turbo Inlet, an OEMadapter ring is included to connect seamlessly to the OEM turbo inlet, making this kit compatible for either turbo inlet setup.

 The ARM MK8 GTI intake air filter is housed in a laser-etched aluminum heat shield finished in wrinkle black. The heat shield that isolates the filter from engine bay heat to keep intake air temperatures down and protect against power loss from heat soak. The air filter is fed fresh air from the OEM air snorkel, which directs air outside the engine bay towards the air filter.  The heat shield comes standard with aclear cover to show off the filter while closing off the top of the heat shield for further heat resistance. For those who prefer to run without the clear cover, weather stripping is included to create a seal at the top of the heat shield to keep hot engine bay air out and cool air in.

The air filter in the ARM MK8 GTI Intake utilizes an inverted design to maximize surface area. Combining the inverted filter design with the massive 5.5" base gives you over 300 cubic inches of filter surface area, ensuring airflow is never a limiting factor regardless of power level.

The ARM MK8 GTI Intake comes complete with a CNC machined aluminum SAI filter adapter that integrates directly into the OEM secondary air intake system. The SAI filter installs inside the heat shield to draw from the cool air supply inside the airbox, keeping secondary air intake temperatures as low as possible.
