ECS Tuning B8 3.0T Free-Flow "Shorty" Exhaust Headers

The factory 3.0T exhaust manifolds are designed with cost and packaging in mind, not performance. Due to their archaic cast iron construction, the factory "log" style manifolds flow poorly, hindering engine performance for both stock and tuned applications. Our engineers set out to address these limitations with tubular stainless steel headers that dramatically reduce exhaust backpressure and improve exhaust gas scavenging. The result? A drastic increase in flow and throttle response. Let your engine breathe!

Our "shorty" header design starts with a 304SS exhaust port flange. This piece is CNC-machined to match factory dimensions for precise fitment and proper sealing. From there, 1.5" (38mm) stainless steel tubes are TIG-welded to the flange, providing a seamless finish and exceptional durability. The mandrel-bent tubes merge into a 2.25" (57mm) three-to-one collector, pre-assembled with class 10.9 studs that mate with both OEM catalytic converters and aftermarket downpipes. The final assembly is finished with a sleek black ceramic coating, offering a high-quality appearance and improved heat dissipation.

This unique design retains compatibility with factory emissions equipment and does not require any modifications for installation. Special care was taken when designing these headers, ensuring a precise fit within the confines of the B8's tight engine bay.

Note: Due to tight spacing between the cylinder head and the manifold runners, minor clearancing or material trimming may be necessary to ensure proper header fitment.

We strive for the highest level of precision and quality through leading-edge product development technology, including FARO laser scanning for reverse engineering and quality inspection, SolidWorks 3D CAD modeling, rapid prototyping utilizing our in-house 3D printer, and rigorous long-term product testing.
