ECS Tuning Heavy Duty Rear Differential Bushing

Designed to insulate the cabin from NVH (noise, vibration, and harshness), your factory rear differential bushing is constructed from rubber. While useful for soaking up vibration and driveline noise, this material leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to performance applications. Rubber is much too soft to lock down your differential effectively and allows the carrier to shift fore and aft during acceleration and deceleration. This translates to a "disconnected" feeling for the driver, a thunk noise when shifting gears, and a general loss in performance due to excess deflection.

Coupled with aging bushings that may have cracked, dry-rotted, and split over time, your E30's rear differential bushing is in dire need of replacement. Thankfully, we had this in mind when creating our Heavy Duty Differential Bushing. Instead of choosing polyurethane, a material that is synonymous with drastic increases in NVH, we chose to manufacture our bushings from HD 70D rubber for a close-to-factory feel without the excess deflection of the soft bushing. Additionally, unlike the factory steel insert, our HD offering features an aluminum insert for decreased weight and added corrosion resistance. In turn, our bushing creates a pleasurable driving experience free from differential whine and excess movement.
