ECS Tuning B6/B7 S4 Luft-Technik Performance Intake System

The ECS Tuning Luft-Technik Induction System for the Audi B6/B7 S4 4.2L is a precision-engineered upgrade designed to unleash the full character of Audi’s high-revving, naturally aspirated V8. This performance-driven system enhances throttle response, improves airflow, and amplifies the engine’s signature intake growl, transforming every acceleration into a visceral experience.

Developed in-house using state-of-the-art design and testing methods, the ECS Luft-Technik system replaces the factory airbox with a free-flowing, less restrictive setup that optimizes the 4.2L powerplant's performance. Engineered for seamless integration, each component is crafted from high-quality, heat-resistant materials for long-lasting performance and an OEM-like fit.

Our system starts with a powder-coated aluminum heat shield that utilizes rubber trim to seal against the underside of the hood. This effectively reduces intake air temperatures, providing consistent power delivery and throttle response in all conditions. The sealed airbox is connected to the throttle body via a CNC-machined billet aluminum adapter, finished in a striking red anodize for durability and visual appeal. A 92mm high-flow silicone inlet connects the adapter to the filter, ensuring a smooth, turbulence-free path for incoming air. This optimized airflow tract enhances velocity, reduces restriction, and promotes improved efficiency for maximum performance.

  • Features heavy-duty four-ply fluorosilicone, wire-reinforced construction
  • Large 92mm ID provides maximum intake airflow
• Secondary Air Injection
  • Our system is fully compatible with the OEM SAI emissions system
  • The included cotton gauze SAI breather filter provides a fresh air source to the SAI pump, using our custom CNC-machined 6061 aluminum SAI adapter to the OEM SAI hose
  • Our adapter slides discreetly through a lower access hole inside the heat shield, where it clips into the factory air injection hose

Our Luft-Technik Intake System was designed, engineered, tested, and quality inspected by our Research and Development team in our Wadsworth, Ohio, facility. We strive for the highest level of precision and quality through leading-edge product development technology, including FARO laser scanning for reverse engineering and quality inspection, SolidWorks 3D CAD modeling, rapid prototyping utilizing our in-house 3D printer, and rigorous long-term product testing.
