DESCRIPTION

Are you looking to make more power from your Audi B8/B8.5 S4/S5 3.0T but afraid of melting your factory clutch with the increase in power? All too often most tunes near Stage 2 power levels will destroy your clutch the moment you even think about getting into the power. The unfortunate consequence used to be an expensive clutch upgrade that would break the bank and sacrifice the ease of drivability. At ECS, we felt the same pain and decided to carry on our legacy of designing and creating top-quality, easy-to-drive, affordable performance clutch and flywheel kits, now available for your Audi B8 S4 and S5 3.0T.

Our kit is engineered to reliably hold 475 ft/lbs of crank torque. Featuring components designed to be perfect for both performance and daily driving! Each kit includes a lightweight flywheel for improved reliability and faster revs. Lastly, all necessary hardware is included for basic installation, such as flywheel bolts, pressure plate bolts, and a throwout bearing. We even included a Audi-specific clutch alignment tool for proper crank bore engagement and clutch disc centering.

This kit was long term tested on our shop B8.5 S4 tuned on APR stage 2 93 octane dual pulley. We put thousands of test miles on this clutch under various driving conditions to ensure we are providing the best driving experience possible while maintaining reliability.

PART DESIGN

  • CLUTCH DISC
    • 240mm full-face, high-performance organic friction material with integrated copper for enhanced heat dissipation and a long component life.
    • OE-like marcel design with sprung hub friction disk to help reduce gear noise and driveline chatter, ensuring smooth engagement.
  • PRESSURE PLATE
    • Increased clamp force over OEM, rated at 2,200 lbs of pressure.
    • Non-adjustable pressure plate: This eliminates the factory self-adjusting pressure plate, which can become problematic under spirited driving conditions when shifting at higher RPMs. This can result in improper clutch pedal engagement, causing the pedal to stick to the floor during high-RPM shifts. Our non-adjustable pressure plate eliminates this issue.
  • FLYWHEEL
    • Made from billet Chromoly 4140 steel & 6061-T6 aluminum for superior strength and durability.
      • Heat-treated for wear resistance.
      • Black zinc plated for corrosion resistance.
    • Weighs only 18.3 lbs, making it 11.5 lbs lighter than stock!
    • SFI 1.1 tested and certified to ensure safe operation.

PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT

Our Clutch and Flywheel Kits were tested and quality inspected by our Research and Development team in our Wadsworth, Ohio facility. We strive for the highest level of precision and quality through leading-edge product development technology, including FARO laser scanning for reverse engineering and quality inspection, SolidWorks 3D CAD modeling, rapid prototyping utilizing our in-house 3D printer, and rigorous long-term product testing.

Break-In Recommendations:

  • Recommended break-in: 500-1,000 miles of light throttle city driving, staying under 4,500 RPM. Make an effort to shift through the gears as much as possible to evenly break in the clutch and flywheel.
  • Try to avoid over-slipping the clutch, such as prolonged bumper-to-bumper traffic, during the 500-mile break-in period.
  • Avoid hard launches or quick shifting until after the 500-mile break-in period has passed.
