The factory N54 and N55 MAP sensors are only designed to read up to roughly 20–21 PSI. If you are running upgraded turbos and pushing beyond that threshold, your DME becomes completely blind to the actual pressure in the charge pipe. This causes tuning inaccuracies, poor drivability, and can put your engine at serious risk.

This upgrade kit solves that problem by utilizing a Bremmen Parts 3.5 Bar TMAP sensor (designed to the exact specifications of the newer N20 and S55 sensors). This safely raises your measurable boost limit to 36 PSI. Because this upgraded sensor uses a different plug shape, we include a high-quality Plug-and-Play adapter harness, allowing you to connect it to your older N54 or Type-A N55 factory wiring without cutting, splicing, or repinning.

Software Calibration is Required: Installing this sensor without adjusting your tune will cause your vehicle to run poorly, stall, and immediately trigger engine codes (such as 2ABC and 3100).

After physically installing the sensor, do not start the car until you have opened your tuning software (e.g., MHD or JB4) and selected the option for "Upgraded 3.5 Bar TMAP" or "N20 Sensor Installed". This calibrates the ECU to correctly interpret the new 0.5v–4.5v resolution.
