ECS Tuning MK7 Front Strut Tower Bar Package - Stage 2 - Black

Strut tower bars are an excellent and common handling upgrade that work by bracing the strut towers together to reduce chassis flex during cornering. ECS Tuning has designed and tested this strut brace package in house to increase chassis rigidity and improve handling during aggressive cornering in your MK7/MK7.5 GTI. Our Stage 1 strut bar is made from heavy duty 4130 steel and bolts to our 6061 billet aluminum strut bar brackets for a rigid chassis connection that packages underneath the windshield cowl and is compatible with OEM struts or aftermarket coilovers that use factory strut mount hardware. The additional Stage 2 brace further strengthens the strut towers while adding eye-catching underhood candy.

** Please note, minor trimming of the steel rain tray is required for Stage 2 bar clearance. **

PART DESIGN

Stage 1

• In-house designed and engineered in our Wadsworth, Ohio facility, using FARO ARM laser scanning technology for precise fitment

• Stress bar is made from 4130 steel with Tig-welded end brackets and finished in a durable satin black powdercoat

• Strut top mounting brackets are made from 6061-T6 billet aluminum and finished in a durable black anodized coating

• No drilling or cutting required for installation

• Class 10.9 zinc plated fasteners are included for replacement strut mount hardware

Stage 2

• In-house designed and engineered in our Wadsworth, Ohio facility, using FARO ARM laser scanning technology for precise fitment

• Stress Bar is made from 6061-T6 billet aluminum and features your choice of clear or black anodized finish

• Machined honeycomb design matches GTI grilles for OE+ appearance

• Mounting brackets are made from 6061-T6 billet aluminum and finished in a durable black anodized coating

• Class 10.9 zinc plated fasteners are included for replacement strut mount hardware

• Requires minor trimming of the steel rain tray for clearance

PERFORMANCE FEATURES

• Our Front Strut Tower Bars are precision engineered structural components that ensure power is transferred properly and not lost through chassis flex, without any increase in NVH. By providing a rigid component between the strut towers cornering load is distributed more competently to reduce chassis flex, preventing changes in wheel alignment geometry that can negatively impact handling.

• Our ECS Front Strut Tower Bars were designed, engineered, tested and quality inspected by our Research and Development team in our Wadsworth, Ohio facility. We strive for the highest level of precision and quality through leading-edge product development technology including FARO laser scanning for reverse engineering and quality inspection, SolidWorks 3D CAD modeling, rapid prototyping utilizing our in-house 3D printer, and rigorous long term product testing.

INSTALLATION AND SUPPORT

• Trimming of the steel rain tray is required for clearance of the Stage 2 stress bar and brackets. A reciprocating air saw or Dremel can easily be used to accomplish this without any adverse affects to the rain tray's intended operation.
