ECS Tuning N52 Oil Filter Housing Gasket Kit

A leaking gasket can cause headaches down the road, usually when you least expect it. The N52 engine can suffer a particularly troublesome leak around the oil filter housing gasket. Generally seen as something to keep an eye on, this is not something that should be put off.   In fact,  allowing this gasket to remain unserviced for too long can very certainly lead to catastrophic engine failure. As  oil drips down the front of the engine it can begin to coat the drive belt and components. When the belt and/or pulleys are sufficiently covered in oil, the belt will begin to slip, it's only a matter of time at this point before something bad happens. A strong enough slip can unseat the belt and lodge it in between the block and crank  pulley, which then shreds the belt and sends it further into the engine via the oil pan. This process is happening so fast in an engine moving at thousands of rotations a minute that before the engine can be shut down or the problem detected, the damage has been done. In mere seconds the accessory  belt is shredded and  pieces of it have been pulled through the oil pickup on their way through the block.
