ECS Tuning MK8 Golf R / 8Y S3 Cast Aluminum "Big Bore" Turbo Inlet Pipe

All too often OEM components sacrifice performance in an effort to appeal to a wide variety of customers. While an enthusiast typically wants better boost response and more power, all while hearing the turbocharger breathe, a non-enthusiast may give up these characteristics for a quieter ride. Give your MK8 R or 8Y S3 the performance it deserves and engage with your car for a more enjoyable driving experience!  In the case of the factory turbo inlet pipe, mounted between the compressor housing and air intake hose, its purpose is to channel air from the inlet hose into the turbocharger inlet, all while reducing engine bay acoustics and sacrificing quality materials in favor of cheap molded plastic material. With the ECS MK8 R / 8Y S3 Cast Turbo Inlet Pipe, the factory inlet pipe is removed and replaced with our straight-through, cast aluminum inlet. This eliminates the cheap plastic unit that was installed from the factory that can deform or even crack over time due to engine bay temps and heat cycles. PART DESIGN Inlet Elbow is made from cast aluminum for maximum airflow capacity, durability and is designed to work in combination with OEM / OE-Location Turbo Inlet Hoses. Compressor Inlet Flange is machined after casting to create a bellmouth inlet design for smooth air entry into the compressor housing. The CNC inlet flange also features OEM mounting holes, it also utilizes a sealing O-ring for perfect fit and seal for precision fitment within the compressor housing.  Cast mounting tabs retain compatibility with the OEM locating fastener and its mounting location. Designed to with with stock airbox and other intake components.   PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT Our ECS Turbo Inlet Pipe was designed, engineered, tested and quality inspected by our Research and Development team in our Wadsworth, Ohio facility. We strive for the highest level of precision and quality through leading edge product development technology including FARO laser scanning for reverse engineering and quality inspection, SolidWorks 3D CAD modelling, rapid prototyping utilizing our in-house 3D printer, and rigorous long term product testing.   INSTALLATION AND SUPPORT Our ECS Turbo Inlet Pipe is a direct-fitment OE upgrade for the factory 06Q129635D- Turbo Inlet Pipe.
