Check all images for a size comparison on the CAP Heat Exchanger - the largest heat exchanger for Audi 3.0T engine on the market. The size difference is very significant compared to OEM!
The Can Auto Performance Heat Exchanger fills the same front-mount space with a near-square 24" × 17" × 3" core — 3.65× more core volume than OEM, 1,224 in³ — and a triple-pass coolant circuit that keeps IATs below that threshold pull after pull. No other heat exchanger in this category delivers more cooling capacity at this price.
Maximize size, minimize heat soak - to maximize performance and HP output.
The Can Auto Performance Heat Exchanger upgrade kit for the Audi B8/B8.5 S4/S5 and C7/C7.5 A6/A7 is the Heat Exchanger upgrade your vehicle deserves and needs to properly cool down. Engineered and designed to maximize the space available on the front of the supercharged 3.0T, this heat exchanger upgrade significantly reduces intake air temperatures which is vital in maintaining performance.
Although stock Audi's with the 3.0T supercharged V6 have sufficient cooling with the stock intercooler/heat exchanger, once upgraded to Stage 1 or Stage 2 and beyond, a heat exchanger and an effective cooling system are a must to maintain performance and reliability for Audi owners.
Known for being able to double power output (from stock applications of 333HP to modified applications of over 670HP), the Audi 3.0T supercharged V6 engine is truly a masterpiece. Its Achilles' heel is undoubtedly heat soak caused by high intake air temperatures. Cars without a high-volume capacity heat exchanger on Stage 2 upgraded pulley setups quickly become slower than even stock cars without any modifications due to this problem.
Upgrading your stock heat exchanger to the CAP all-aluminum heat exchanger will prevent the heat soak that kills performance from repeated pulls and even improves reliability, ensuring consistent flow. The oversized core is over 2.5x larger than the stock heat exchanger and maintains an efficient, consistent flow and lightweight design, better than other heat exchangers available on the market.
Important note: Heat Exchanger comes with aluminum brackets. Please note one of the brackets may need to be modified for the Q5/SQ5 and the 4.0T usage on the Audi S6/S7. Due to the sheer size of this heat exchanger, from what we know it is the largest on the market, some modifications are required on certain models. The pictured unit is for display purposes.
If you choose to purchase the Fit Kit with, then the heat exchanger will come with a high-temperature hose and fittings needed for install.

A heat exchanger in an Audi 3.0T cools the dedicated supercharger/intercooler coolant circuit. Hot coolant leaves the intercooler cores inside the supercharger, passes through the front-mounted heat exchanger, and is cooled by outside airflow before returning to the supercharger.
There are numerous benefits to upgrading your heat exchanger in place of an OEM version. Here are 14 reasons to treat your 3.0T Audi to this upgrade:
Avoiding heat soak & Increasing Horsepower
Significantly lower intake air temperatures
Significantly less pressure drop over OEM
Low turbulence
Anti-Corrosion
Thermal heat dissipating characteristics
Extensive quality control
Made to purge all air when installed correctly
Pressure tested after assembly
High-density fin core
Lightweight construction
Triple pass core
Drain plug to limit air from being trapped in
Increases reliability of stock supercharger intercoolers
Turn your 3.0T into a heat-soak-slaying monster with these proven combos:
CAP Crank Pulley Kit: Unlock instant throttle response with our 191mm pulley – dyno-tested for +80 WHP.
CAP Test Pipes: Ditch restrictive cats – pair with our heat exchanger for 25% lower EGTs.
CAP Velocity Stack Intake: Supercharger whine meets cold air – 18% airflow increase guaranteed.
Keep your Audi’s temps Arctic-cool with these pro tips:
Visual Inspections: Check for debris blockage every 5k miles – our high-density fin design resists clogging, but track rats should stay vigilant.
Coolant Health: Flush coolant annually with G13/G40 and use our drain plug to eliminate air pockets. Fun Fact: CAP’s triple-pass core circulates coolant 40% faster than stock.
Winter Prep: In sub-zero climates, add 60/40 coolant/water mix to prevent freezing – our 304 aluminum construction laughs at corrosion.
Pressure Checks: Spot a leak? Our lifetime warranty covers manufacturing defects – no questions asked (if you are the original owner).
