The BMW E53 is a remarkable machine. Whether you own one in diesel or gas form, the desire to take it off road creates some challenges. Our engineers specifically designed this product to create a perfect solution to this problem; the ECS Overland lift kit will reliably raise your E53 1.5", giving you the clearance you need to run 30"+ all terrain tires while keeping axles in a healthy operating range, reducing the chance of premature wear on driveline components.

There are two methods of lifting. 1. Body Lift: this method moves the body away from the chassis. 2. Suspension Lift: this method lifts the suspension anchor points. If your objective is to fit larger tires, either method is valid; however, a suspension lift gives your vehicle's driveline components extra clearance, which is necessary if your vehicle is more than the average "mall crawler" or "bro dozer". The ECS Suspension Lift Kit will give your E53 the clearance you need to run larger all-terrain tires AND the ground clearance needed to make your E53 more utilitarian.

Raising a vehicle's suspension is not for beginners. Getting the right tools is not always easy. ECS’s Overland lift kit provides all the necessary spacers and perches needed to lift your vehicle to 1.5" all around. Our engineers specifically designed this to work with factory rear coil springs OR rear air suspension on E53 X5 vehicles. Our engineers also designed an On-Car Spring Compressor Tool that simplifies safely removing the rear springs on most vehicles. Conventional (external-type) compressors can not be used due to the confined space on the E53. For rear air suspension vehicles, ECS leveling links are required (ES4338291).

The lift kit components are all black anodized for corrosion resistance and visually blend discreetly with the factory struts and springs. Thanks to our engineers, you can maintain full wheel travel while keeping the axles within operating range. Our detailed, illustrated assembly instructions ensure an easy install.

If you decide to install a body lift kit yourself, have it professionally aligned and checked after install. Lifting a vehicle raises its center of gravity; this increases the likelihood that it will tip over as a result of a sudden maneuver or emergency braking. Adding larger, soft tires also contributes to increased body roll. Additionally, adding these heavy parts to your E53 can cause premature wear on high failure parts including but not limited to ball joints and wheel bearings. Keep in mind, lifting your E53 will make it drive differently.
