The First Generation (2006-2012) R8 marked the start of a new era for Audi. The first iteration of this Gallardo-based, mid-engine supercar was equipped with Audi's flagship 4.2L FSI V8—a 414 HP monster capable of propelling the R8 to previously unthinkable speeds. The plastic airbox that Audi paired with this powerplant is unremarkable at best, both aesthetically and functionally. To rectify this issue, and to increase overall performance, our engineers developed an OEM+ Carbon Fiber Performance Intake System.
Carefully crafted from 2x2 twill weave carbon fiber, this intake system doesn’t just enhance performance; it looks stunning in the engine bay. The carbon fiber box, lid, and velocity stacks are finished with a high-gloss clear coat that protects the assembly from harmful UV rays, ensuring a lasting, show-ready appearance. Our design mirrors the directional carbon fiber weave found on OEM carbon package components, adding a cohesive, high-end look to your engine bay.
Designed with optimized airflow in mind, our Performance Intake System replaces restrictive factory MAF tubes with carbon fiber MAF tubes. These precision-molded pieces are engineered with velocity stacks to smooth airflow and increase efficiency. Dual cone filters are strategically relocated inside the rear fenders, positioning them directly in the path of factory cold air ducting. This reduces intake air temperatures for cooler, denser airflow, contributing to increased horsepower and throttle response. Despite their advanced design, these tubes maintain the factory mass airflow sensor location, ensuring CEL-free operation. No tune is required!
Included with the intake system are ECS 3.0" high-flow air filters designed to allow maximum airflow while effectively capturing contaminants. The increased filtration capacity supports the intake’s ability to breathe freely, contributing to an exhilarating driving experience and an unmistakable engine note.
This intake system was CAD-designed for an exact fit with your R8’s factory connections and mounting points, ensuring seamless installation. ECS engineers optimized the design for compatibility with OEM grommets, making it a true plug-and-play solution that requires no modifications to the vehicle. It fits like the original but performs on a different level!

All products sold by Eurosport Performance are warrantied against manufacturing defects according to the manufacturer's warranty policy*. Warranty does not cover abuse, misuse, damages caused from improper manipulation, normal wear and tear, improper installation, or damages resulting from racing. Warranties only apply to the original owner. If a product is found defective, the customer will receive, at the discretion of Eurosport Performance, a replacement part at no extra cost.
