While this may be adequate for your Grandmother's automatic M20 car, it is a guaranteed failure point on your boosted M5X. After years of broken covers, mounting tabs (and dreams), Turner's team of E30 enthusiasts created the ultimate reliability solution! Unlike the OEM cast aluminum cover, this cover is constructed from 6061-T6 billet aluminum, providing a 30% increase in material strength alone. A secondary mounting ear was added to the billet cover to further increase the cover's strength, providing an additional source of stability and driveline shock absorption. The secondary mount is secured to the chassis using a sheet metal bracket and a billet aluminum plate, which can be bolted on for easy installation or welded for maximum strength and rigidity.

Another drawback of the factory differential cover is its lack of any cooling features. To solve this issue, Turner's differential cover upgrade features advanced cooling technology. Large external fins have been added to the cover, and are optimized using CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) analysis to efficiently dissipate heat, reducing overall fluid temperatures. By maintaining a more stable differential temperature, this cover ensures consistent performance and extends the lifespan of your differential fluid. Additionally, a built-in air duct assists in cooling by increasing airflow around the differential, further preventing heat-related failures. For the serious track, drift, and drag strip enthusiast, this cover features optional -6AN fittings. This allows for easy integration of an external fluid cooler if desired. Finally, a 1/8 NPT port is also included to ensure compatibility with fluid temperature monitoring systems.
