For 2022+ MK8 Volkswagen Golf R and 8Y Audi S3 models equipped with the factory 401 Bootloader, the DQ381 G2 TCU is locked from the factory and cannot be flashed through traditional OBD-II methods. To address this limitation, 034Motorsport developed the proprietary Boot Loader Unlock (BLU) Harness, allowing enthusiasts to unlock their transmission control unit and gain access to Dynamic+ TCU Tuning. Once unlocked, the TCU can be flashed and updated through the factory OBD-II port using the 034SPI Flashing Kit, providing a seamless path to the full performance, drivability, and transmission enhancements offered by Dynamic+ TCU Tuning. This innovative solution brings support to vehicles that were previously untunable, making 034Motorsport one of the first to offer an at-home unlocking and flashing solution for the DQ381 G2 platform.
