A VDO 84 mm throttle body mated to a cast and machined aluminum adapter gives a smooth transition between the larger throttle body and the supercharger inlet — a 20% increase in flow over the OE throttle body right out of the box. The adapter and gasket can be port-matched to the supercharger during porting for even more airflow.
Multiple designs were modeled, prototyped and tested to ensure measurable gains and superb fitment. The result is an optimized open-airbox design that uses the factory fresh-air duct to channel cool outside air to a massive 4" conical filter, free of restrictive shrouding, through a CFD-optimized 4-ply silicone inlet hose that smoothly increases air velocity to the throttle body.
A high-flowing intake needs air to flow freely around and into the filter. Many kits fit too large a filter in an enclosure that can't accommodate it, choking the filter. 034Motorsport tested and refined the design for maximum airflow around and through the filter — the right size filter in the right size housing, with OEM-level filtration. Be cautious of any intake that brags only of filter size.
The CFD-optimized 4-ply silicone intake tube directly replaces the factory plastic accordion hose. Using CAD and 3D scanning, the cross-sectional area was optimized within the factory space constraints — a functional work of art with smooth transitions for optimal airflow to the throttle body.
A high-flow conical filter with double-layer pleated cotton media traps particles down to 5 microns, tested in applications over 800 HP with minimal restriction. A clever filter support prevents unwanted movement while allowing compliance for engine movement under load — and the shroud doesn't rub on other engine-bay components.
