Turner Motorsport N52/N54/N55/S55 Crank Seal Guard

Designed to cover up your crank seal located behind your harmonic balancer to prevent your serpentine belt or pieces of it from entering the engine and causing engine failure.

Considered a necessary maintenance item for your BMW a crank seal guard is designed to be the safeguard to protect from an easily preventable but catastrophic danger, your accessory belt. No one wants to admit it but there is a good chance your engine is leaking either oil or coolant and if it is not leaking now, it will be at some point. The leaking oil and/or coolant can make its way on to the accessory belt causing walking and slipping which leads to fraying and bits of rubber making its way behind the harmonic balancer and even into the crank seal. Slipping, tearing or worse belts snapping can all be a major threat to your engine. Make sure this simple maintenance item is taken care of for a piece of mind and longevity. It's not a matter of "if" it will happen but "when" it will happen.

It is a good idea to note how your belt is routed before starting the installation.

2 securing bolts for crank seal guard - Torque value of 20Nm

You will find either 6 or 8 E10 bolts are holding the harmonic balancer depending on the engine.

E10 (P#11237564511) 
N52: 6 bolts - Torque value of 25nm
N54: 6 bolts - Torque value of 35nm
N55: 8 bolts - Torque value of 35nm
