ECS Tuning E53 X5 Direct-Fit Hitch

Tailor-made for your E53 X5, our in-house engineered hitch is crafted with both functionality and easy installation in mind. While your E53 is fully equipped to handle your towing requirements, it most likely lacked a factory-installed hitch, and the Genuine BMW options are no longer available. OEM towing capacity specs so 2700 kg / 5950 lbs towing capacity with 600 lbs tongue weight limit.

Forget universal hitches, our engineer Mike chose to design a strong, simple and dedicated hitch for the E53 X5 (best car). This upgrade allows you to utilize the full potential of your X5, from towing to luggage carriers and bike racks this hitch takes care of all your utility needs. Starting with a rugged multipiece design our hitch has two brackets that mount to factory frame locations, the brackets are tied together with the strong center section featuring a standard 2" receiver. Designed to for a direct fit with no modifications necessary to install behind your factory bumper.

Looking at our ECS catalog you can see we developed a number of dedicated E53 X5 components for overlanding, general utility and just cool factor. Here at ECS Tuning we have a team of engineers who are true BMW enthusiasts that defend the principle that everyone needs at least one E53 in the fleet. Our die-hard enthusiasts have a range of X5s from 6 speed M54 models to a fully built LS enhanced pre-runner build! Electrical / Wiring:

For all bike racks, rear carriers or storage add-ons no modifications are needed and you are all set to go!

If your X5 DID come equipped with the towing package you are just about set up. To wire in the hitch connector you can reference the wiring diagram pictured above. The only necessary component needed is a 4 pin To 7 blade Trailer Connector (ES4745268).

If your X5 DID NOT come equipped with the towing package you will need the required towing module (part # 61356955253). These modules can be found used on ebay and amazon for great prices and you can also purchase it new on our website(ES169157)
