BMW's B48 and B58 engines use a unique water-to-air charge air cooler. While this cooler is located inside the intake manifold, it relies on a front-mounted heat exchanger for heat dissipation. Many enthusiasts have found that this heat exchanger is a limiting factor when it comes to extracting more horsepower and torque from the Gen2 B58 platform. Its single-row, 25mm core is quick to heat soak, resulting in sky-high IATs and subsequently sending the DME into limp-home-mode. To solve this issue, we've designed an all-aluminum, performance-oriented heat exchanger suitable for street-focused, high-horsepower builds, track-oriented vehicles, and everything in between.
Engineered in-house by our dedicated team of BMW enthusiasts, our High Performance Aluminum Heat Exchanger offers a significant upgrade in both cooling capacity and overall system durability. To improve upon the factory design, our engineers started by addressing the weak, failure-prone plastic end tanks. Constructed from durable 6061-T6 aluminum and TIG-welded for added strength, our end tanks are guaranteed to outlast the factory design. Additionally, these proprietary end tanks feature CNC-machined billet aluminum hose connectors, flanges, and mounting brackets. This ensures seamless integration with the factory hoses and accessories, providing a trouble-free fit and effortless installation.
To boost cooling system efficiency and reduce IATs, we replaced the 25mm, single-row core with a dual-row, 42mm core. This nearly doubles the effective volume of the cooling system, thereby improving the heat exchanger's ability to dissipate heat. In turn, this upgrade grants cooler charge air temperatures, allowing you to extract more power from your B48 or B58-equipped BMW reliably!

Our High Performance Aluminum Heat Exchanger was designed, engineered, tested, and quality inspected by our Research and Development team in our Wadsworth, Ohio, facility. We strive for the highest level of precision and quality through leading-edge product development technology, including FARO laser scanning for reverse engineering and quality inspection, SolidWorks 3D CAD modeling, rapid prototyping utilizing our in-house 3D printer, and rigorous long-term product testing.

All products sold by Eurosport Performance are warrantied against manufacturing defects according to the manufacturer's warranty policy*. Warranty does not cover abuse, misuse, damages caused from improper manipulation, normal wear and tear, improper installation, or damages resulting from racing. Warranties only apply to the original owner. If a product is found defective, the customer will receive, at the discretion of Eurosport Performance, a replacement part at no extra cost.
